Put a few hours on it today through some trails then took it to a rocky creek in between some hills. Ended up boiling it and throwing coolant everywhere. Changed the crap stock coolant for a decent brand-thinking of a fan kit now.

Due for some rear brake pads and radiator braces

Thought I'd see how those swingarm bearings were looking...

Yeah, I'll grease them up a bit and stick them back in. Probably get a few more years out of them.

Guys I bought the wrong replacement swingarm bearing kit. The one I got is for a linkage bike, I think.

I fitted then removed them so the seals are bent out of shape but the rest is good.

Free to a good home if you want, I'll even cover postage.

They'll need a regrease but good otherwise. Fits quite a few 05-15 bikes, see this link for the part details:

PM if keen.

New cam shaft 2008 450 EXC-R

It appears that KTM made a big boo boo when they made the 2008 cams. The decomp stuff in the end of the cams was made back to front. The result of this is that it is nearly impossible to kick these into life.
I'm 6'4" and could not do this. Also, every other time you hit the start button, the starter couldn't turn it over, meaning you had to let go of the button, then try again.

KTM fixed the problem in 2009, but doesn't help those of us with the 08 models.
So I put a new cam in today, same part#, but the fiche says it is a 2015 cam.
WOW......it is so easy to kick start now, and the button turns over EVERY time.
This is where I learned about it. http://forum.omraoffroad.com/viewtopic.php?t=5794
Now I'm just waiting on my 2011 spec oil pump drive gears,(much beefier) and 125 oil jet,(up from 100) and oil pump drive shaft, and my motor will be a little more able to cope with pushing it a bit harder.

Cheers, Simon.
