not so secret ride 22nd march

well since it has been about 6 months since any one posted a ride report i thought it best that i try and revive the thread.
After little interest from fellow DBW'ers i still managed to put together a group of 11 riders including myself for a good ride through most of the best stuff talla has to offer (well my opinion anyway) as it was a g3 ride slightly toned down we headed south to have a quick look at view from the fire tower but as we got closer to the tower the more the fog seemed to appear and limited our view to around 30 meters, after a quick stop we headed off along stone hut then to rocky pik where a few ppl decided to have a play in mud due to bad line choice but there were no real dramas and not much help was needed to get them back on track. we stopped at the junction for a quick break then proceeded the climb out onto rocky pik then back in towards that bloody long decent (i hate that hill) where i was told only one person manage to cartwheel part way down , luckily man and machine came off unscathed. most of the section beyond this hill was a really good and fast overgrown f/t but has been turned into a h/way now due to the preparation of logging .
the group moved along nicely on the regular route towards the wheel where we stopped for lunch and a well earned break for some. After lunch we continued along the water wheel stuff heading out towards pinball and bens diner but decided to skip bens diner and opted for a short cut along jinglemoney and a few more easier sections of s/t before returning to the cars. all up no injures and only 1 busted bark buster mount and one rear flat but all in all a good ride.

Hey Craig, ACT reports have been pretty dormant for a while, good to see someone revive it, nice pics.

Was it a bit cool & foggy at the start of the day by the looks of things?

Yeah one would nearly think that no one rides in canberra ?
The fog was bad around the tower and most of the south loop.

Thanks Budgie for letting me in on the ride at the last minute, it was good to meet and ride with everyone. Had a blast on the new graded section near the water wheel(I think) it's after the down hill section.
