Don't sweat the plug chop Gib, you can't do colour chops with today's fuels and synthetic oils, that shit went out 20 years ago. Buy yourself a plug temp readout from the Kart shop. Cheap as.

I thought the same about the Athena kits until TSP recommend that I get one of them because he was too busy to bore my original one out. He said he can fix the head at a later date.

Yeah I wouldn't have called that plug scary. Have seen much worse. I'm interested in this Kart Plug Temp gadget - don't need one but like to see a pic of it.

A thermistor that a spark plug feeds through? OK. There must be a table or something as a guide I suppose. So we can jet a carbie using spark plug temps. OK.

No, the TDR is bonded to the copper flag and a separate ELV feed from the displays' battery is applied to the TDR. The HV pulse through the spark plug remains totally separate.

p.s. Gibbit: don't try to jet that thing on an '8' or a non-resistive plug, you'll chase your tail forever. BR9EG (or a rare-as EGV) gapped at 0.65-0.70mm.

Just a quick update.
I havenít tested it yet, but I bet my nuts that this is the problem.
Power jet wire was not connected.
Must have pulled it out ages ago while trying to get the carby out past the frame.

Enjoy life as a eunuch. Your problem in the OP was in the mid-revs, the PJ leans off the mixture after about 5500-6000 to give back top-end overrun.

Most SX and FMX tunes don't have it connected...

Thatís ok. I had them disconnected years ago anyway.
Iím glad to hear itís not really needed as I tested mine with a 12v battery and itís not working. And a new solenoid is $350!
