Which is not to say that I definitely would have gotten up on a 125.
My previous bike was a KDX200 and I had to approach hills with more momentum than my 300 brethren. This was easy enough on smoother hills, but could cause sudden changes of direction when hitting obstacles with speed. I have to say it was fun at times blasting past some bigger bore bikes creeping up hills, and my bike and I are bouncing off sh1t and getting air and screaming up a hill. Of course this tactic didn't always go to plan

It's much easier now and more civilised on my 300 SEF-R.

Yep!

TBH, I reckon that the difference between where I can go on a 200 and a 300 is pretty small - there wouldn't be many times when the difference would matter, but I am sure that they would annoy the bejeezus out of me when they did happen...

None of the organised rides that I have been on and none of the races I've done have included terrain that I wouldn't have cleared on my old YZ125 - it's only when riding with mates that we end up looking for the hard stuff.
