DP Chip or similar

i currently have a D40 diesel Naravara and have found the fuel economy while towing is shyte.

Anybody tried the DP Chip or something similar. have also heard of putting a vortex type exhaust system in but cost big $$$$.

Not really the same, but when I had the 3.0L Diesel in the Patrol, I put a Safari DTronic in it.
Certainly gave it a bit more off the mark & fuel consumption actually stayed the same.

The D40's hate having a dirty air filter or MAF sensor and it will chew the juice if it does.

Jump on the navara aus forums mate plenty of info there

Cut a long story short I have heard from a reliable source that the DP chip does improve economy for the Navara as well as moving the power curve to a more suitable position for towing heavy loads. My old man lives next door to a fella who apparently uses Navara's in his business for moving large vans around the states and swears by them. As I drive a diesel Navara, the old man told me this story. I will see if I can find out the name of the guy an dhe might but worth having a chat too.

I have tried one on a CR engine without much sucess. I sent it back to be reprogramed without much improvement so sent it back for a full refund.
It INCREASED my fuel usage considerably without changing my driving style.
You get a 30 day trial period so you cant go wrong really !

Good

Put one on my mitsu canter for towing the 2 1/2 tonne van fuel stayed the same 20/100ks but it pulled like a priest in a kindy heaps more power. I think it was worth it for around oz but if i was only going to be doing small trips its another story there about $1250 maybe look at lpg mix the rebate makes it a good deal. Cheers Lil nugget
