We don't have Euro4 regulations, so I reckon KTM will drop the price on 300 2-t's for my19 in Australia to match the competition.

Ha ha!

So the carb models will be sought after? haha sure. So my old '08 will go up in price now too. You'd have to be a KTM nut to think this way. Next year new buyer who really wants a carb model (there would be plenty for various reasons) can buy a GG or a Beta. New bike prices, particularly KTM TPI are too high for the average joe.

Pity to force smog bikes worldwide when we don't all have to comply to Euro 4 (and other bike manufacturers can meet it with a carby) I guess the SX's will be carb'd for the forseeable future.

Euro 4 is a wank.

I operate heavy mobile equipment that burns 2500L of diesel in 12hrs.

My 2 stroke doesn't burn more than 350L in a year.

Ah yes but the carbon tax will offset that. Oh wait, what year is it again....?

Exactly Jay. The reason 4T lawn equipment is the biggest con in the world.

Over the service life of lawn equipment, the factories that make cams, cam followers, cam chains, oil pumps, collets, valves, valve caps, valve springs, valve seats, cam chain tensioners, crank sprockets, cam sprockets, etc put out 1000s of times more atmospheric pollution than the 2T motors they're supposedly cleaner than ...

Yes, but environmentalism is all about misdirection.

Pete, you're supposed to be a mindless drone and take everything at face value.

Ignore that a V8 can run for 20 years before it's emissions even equate to the manufacturing output of a Prius. Ignore that a wind turbine cannot negate it's huge manufacturing emissions before it needs a complete overhaul, ignore that a switch to battery vehicles will most likely mean the planet doesn't have enough raw materials to keep up with battery demand.

Or that current global climate conditions are still well within historic changes, or that it's been proven CO2 has noting to do with it and we have much bigger issues with other types of pollution that's being ignored and the placement of our cities has more to do with shifting climate patterns.
