More the Tarra Bulga end , coming in from near Balook then heading up that way . Reminds me of Tassie , beautiful big gums along the roadside but head off road a few hundred metres and forest annihilation .

When I was in my teens I worked with my father logging, we walked through the bush and selected trees (for lumber and telegraph poles), fell them and snigged them out using a skidder. There was very little damage to the surrounding forest.

Now they use massive mechanised harvesters which need more room and they take everything half usable. It is a lot more destructive and not very sustainable.
It's really disappointing to see the forest after it is logged now.

Andrew and the Greens and retards for sure...but so are the loggers. How hard would it be to leave the old hollow logs and show some genuine interest and care for animals. Lets some animal folks in ahead of the loggers to shift the animals out...leave some hollows that are critical to Aussie natives. Bait less. But they dont, they act like they are entitled and the greenies can **** off...they aint reading the signs of the times.

I live in this Shire & the councillors all got the bullet & have been taken over by administrators, from what I've read the Mayor has to talk to the people about these changes ! How can we have a Mayor, or do we have a puppet Mayor who probably doesn't even live in the area ? It looks like there's a lot of local cutting up about the changes, so it will definitely get interesting ! They also want to stop people camping on private property & cap the number of Dogs allowed on rural properties, I used to live in Frankston were I could have 4 Dogs, i'm only allowed 2 Dogs on my 10acreas unless I pay a fee which is about $50+ plus a rego fee on top of that

Wow. Unfortunately just looks like another example of minority groups having a big say.

Can imagine what goes on behind the scenes. Previous council was blamed for "never listening or actioning anything" among many other unscrupulous things..

New naive council actions every single complaint.

Good luck, get out while you can.
