More enduro please...

We are having the 4 days in Victoria this year

It will be the first 4 days for many of us (including me) and from I have read it is going to be like 200kms every day, so pretty demanding, so that would be great to be prepared for it by doing other 1 or 2 day enduros, but there aren't any

It is all sprints & 2 hour cross country in the calendar, so how do you prepare for the 4 days ?

Am I the only one that wants more enduro ??

Which events would you suggest to train for the 4 days ?

Good point and I'm not sure of much out there... More competition everywhere would help but it's getting harder and harder to do...

Clubs can't get the permits and enough people to work enduros. The a4de falls under a national thing so tourism aust trumps dse Vic and we get more access to land.

I would guess each day will be closer to 250 or 300 going by the last 2 times it was ran in Vic.

The best training will be 8hr rides and some grass track practice.

NSW have a proper enduro series....
a 2day enduro at Wellington, and a 2day at Brooman (Ulladulla) are on teh calendar before the A4DE....they will be run pretty similar to the A4DE.
good to get the feel for the format, the type and distances covered will be similar, checkpoints and timecards etc....

If this years 4day is like the 08 Warragul one, you will benefit from lots of grasstrack practice......

Holbrook's round of the Leaping Log is on the 27th of May at "The Pines" course which is about 7 km outside of Holbrook on the Jingellic Road (check HMCSC web site for directions).
Format is a series of loops around what is generally single track.
Schedule time is yet to be confirmed, but usually 40 minutes.
Rider numbers are allocated at sign-on and the schedule is posted in the pits just prior to start.
Sign-on commences at 7:30am. rider briefing at 9:15-9:30, start time around 10:00.
Riders start each of their loops as per the schedule.
Penalty points may apply for starting your loop late (but 2 minute grace is allowed and you don't have to make up any lost time).
Race results are based upon special test times during the day. There can be either 1 or 2 special tests on each lap depending upon where we can fit them.
First lap is a sighting lap. No special test times are recorded.
Test times will be posted in the pits during the day so you can check on your progress.
Generally you will ride 5 laps (4 of which include special tests). Finish time is around 3:00pm (sometime later depending upon schedules). Presentation about 30-40 minutes after last rider returns.
Very laid back competition. Accommodation available in Holbrook (none at track due to limited space. Check web-site for accommodation).
Event is designed to suit Clubman riders. Schedules and track may test the average clubman, but hopefully won't break them.
As these events are an Interclub series, you must be a member of one of the promoting clubs (Holbrook, Wagga, Leeton, Griffith or Young). Membership available on the day as is OEL licences if required, however OEL's are cheaper if you organise and pay for then before hand.
Hope this helps. See you there.

Should add classes for seniors are:
Experts
Clubman
Over 35's
Pony Express (2 rider teams)
Senior/Juniors (16 year old 125/250)
There are also Junior classes that are similar to most MX races. Juniors ride a sprint format.

Thanks Muzzac for the info, interesting format. So it is 5 loops of 40min with 2 special per loops. More than 4 hours riding sounds good.
Holbrook is just past albury so probably the best option for us viccos.
Anyone here keen to do it ?

Hey JCB - I've done a few of the LL rounds and as Muzza said, they're great fun and very relaxed but with timed sections and the likes it gets the blood pumping and you'll be sure to enjoy it heaps more than a normal day out on the trails.

I'm even getting my old man to compete in the Holbrook round on his XR400. Don't think I've ever seen him stand up on the pegs but he's bloody fast sitting down!

We're all coming down from up North but if you're there then we'll catch up for a yarn for sure.

Cheers,
Klee.
