Mt Mee Carpark

Mt Mee Carpark (revised edition)

Latitude S2707.614'
Longitude E15244.592'

Get onto Samford road and follow it out through Ferny Grove till you get to Samford itself.
At the servo take a right, then drive on out to Dayboro. Its about 25km.
When you get to the intersection at the pub, head straight through (past the pub).
Follow the road out of town, theres a small intersection a few k's out but the main road is the one you want, and it goes to the right.
Follow the road and eventually you will end up on a dirt road. About a km after you hit dirt theres a carpark on the left with a big tree near the road.

p.s. there's actually a big t intersection in the middle of the town that heads up to the real 'mt mee', as opposed to 'mt mee state forest'. there is also an entrance to the forest from up the top there, but it's the long, twisty and steep way in. Just watch for the pub, and don't follow any signs to Mt Mee

Whether your coming from Petrie or Samford, you must drive through the T intersection at the Dayboro Pub, then follow the map North out of town.

Lockyer State Forest

Lockyer State Forest, car park at eastern end of forest reserve.

Latitude S2728.755'
Longitude E15218.280'

Lockyer

From Brisbane follow the Warrego highway (ie head to Toowoomba) just past the huge BP/McDonalds before Gatton, take the Gatton-Esk Road exit, then at the roundabout turn right so that you are heading back over the highway (the Hwy exit spits you straight into a roundabout). Follow for about 10 mins, then turn left into Millers Rd (2nd left), it turns into a dirt road almost immediately, follow this along, it will turn left, then it will turn right, and then left over a cattle grid, you are now in the forest, follow the road along for about a kilometre and there is a carpark on the right hand side.

Sorry if the final directions are a bit vague, as i normally ride in from the west. The GPS points are correct though.

Also coordinates for the old MX track at the top of the hill from the car park are:
Latitude S2725.673'
Longitude E15215.293'

Beerburrum Shop

Beerburrum Shop

After some confusion Ive decided to do this, these directions are from Brisbane,
head up the Bruce Hwy past Caboulture and take the Beerburrum Exit (it is also the exit for the Glasshouse Tourist Drive & Steve Irwins Australia Zoo),
follow Steve Irwin Way for about 5 mins and there is a left turn into Beerburrum Rd, you essentially to a u-turn, and go across a bridge over some train tracks, and directly on your left is a shop with a decent parking area in front,

Hop out of vehicle and mingle with other DBWers until the call is made to leave

MT Mee carpark

The map is a little busy but as they say.....a picture is worth a thousand words.

Whether your coming from Petrie or Samford, you must drive through the T intersection at the Dayboro Pub, then follow the map North out of town

Bellthorpe Carpark (Day use area)

Take the Stoney Creek Road turn-off (clearly signposted) which is approx. 2 km west of the Woodford-Beerwah turn-off.

Once on Stoney Creek road, veer right at the fork and go straight on until you reach the "day use area" carpark (approx 1-2 km's)

Beerburrum Shop and Carpark Directions

Beerburrum Shop
Take the Glasshouse Mountains exit off the Bruce Hwy. Beerburrum turn off is approx. 4 km on the left. The shop is on the left as you enter the township.

Powerline Carpark

As above, continue through town and approx +/-1 km take first right turn ( Beerburrum/Woodford Rd)

Follow the bitumen straight for approx 5 km, veer left at the fork.

Road turns to gravel, follow straight for approx 5 km.

Carpark is directly under the SECOND set of main Transmission lines on the right hand side just over a crest.

Peachester shop

No directions as we don't want to further infuriate local residents and businesses. Please read below:

Original post 25/10/06 in off-track talk
The vet who owns the surgeon beside the Peachester shop came over today and had a 30 minute discussion about his problem with bikes parking in the area. His business is open Saturday mornings, and he does emergency hours 24/7. He related some examples of his work, where people's pets had been brought in which had been bitten by a snake, or had half eaten a cane toad and were on their last legs, etc - emergency stuff. He described where he's trying to find a pulse on the half-dead family pet, with distraught owners standing by and little kids crying, and a mob of dirt bikes are out front warming up their bikes to go riding at Beerburrum. You can see where I'm coming from. The man has a real problem and our community is the cause of it. He knows all the residents in the area, and apparently they've all had a gutful of bikes firing up and down the road to get to the forest. ie.. don't park there.
