Welding a triple clamp?

Had one of those "oh shyte" moments on the weekend.
A friend came along for a ride and when making the trip back to where her car was decided to strap the bike in my trailer.

Her bikes a CRF250x

We get back when she asks "where's my bike!!!"
Turns out it fell off the trailer about 1km from where we finished, luckily the result wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Anyway, amongst other things, the little tab which holds the speedo on was ripped off the triple clamps. The forks, triples and bars are all fine, apart from the little tab which was pulled off.
Can anyone see an issue with welding this, I know it's generally not a good to weld alloy bit this is clearly not structural.

Pic should make it clear.

Should be okay. I have had few engines cases repaired. My 1979 IT400F has a lug broken off where the sprocket cover mounts. I took it to an expert. He said it was very easy to weld because the alloy was very pure. On recent bikes, he said, the alloys have mixtures of other metals which makes welding just a bit more difficult.

I have tried the stuff wazza mention on an Aluminium tinny and had various results. Tinnies are relatively thin and can easily make the holes bigger. Takes a bit of practice

MIG or TIG no worries Hopkins it doesn't need to be strong for the speedo and its not anywhere important for the fork loads.

Thanks guys, just wanted to make sure a bit of heat there didn't affect the integrity of the triple clamp (which takes a hell of a lot of force).

Charlie, thanks for the offer, I am in Tas though.

Hopkins, I was wondering- did the tie down fail ? Or just tied down incorrectly to begin with?
