-----------------------------------------------------------------
After taking delivery of by Beta RR498RR and having my first ride on it last weekend, I have decided to start modding it. I expect to be keeping the bike a while so I figure I may as well go to town on it - I'm a tinkerer anyway.

So this is the bike in stock form with only my fat bastard springs installed

Now, before I carry on, just for the cynics I had better clarify that I am not endored by, nor recieve any form of remuneration from any of the brands, companies, or people I me tion in this thread

Today I started with putting my Renthal Twinwall CR High Bend bars which are anodised red to match the bike. I took them off my Husky before I sold it as I love the bend of the bars. The bars had Zeta bark busters on them but the plastics were quite badly scratched up and not suitable for my shiny new bike. Fortunately the Beta came with hand guards so I drilled holes in the plastics and screwed them into my Zeta bark busters and they worked quite well. Slapped on a set of Pro-Taper Pillow Top MX grips which I have found to be very comfortable in the past.

Tomorrow I plan on putting the Nuetech Tubeless Tyre System on front and back wheels and changing the stock Michelin Enduro Comp for a Pirelli MX Extra on the rear and a Pirelli MX Hard on the front. If I have the time and inclination I also have a Rekluse Core EXP 3.0 kit and Left Hand Rear Brake to install too. Given there will be SX on tomorrow I doubt I will have the time to do it though.

If you can find one, get a R&D PowerPump Dean, they work miles better than the Quickshot. They're out of production but they are still selling on e-bay. Don't get the PowerBowl, they're not that flash.

Good stuff. That bike looks seriously cool.

I'm also interested in some of the stuff in the background on the bench. What's the air-cooled cylinder and engine out of?

DOH! I knew I should have spoken to you first. I already have the Boyesen Quickshot 3 Accelerator Pump Cover sitting in the garage. Is it a waste of time using it or will it improve things a bit anyway?

Thanks. That stuff in the background was in Marty Wright's workshop in Yass where I bought the bike from - so I'm afraid I can't answer you.

Hey, pick me, pick me - I can answer that! It's from a Royal Enfield - an Indian one at that.

Wow, that is a piece of art. I can't believe you're going to ride that, and scratch it up.
Nice.

Just finished up installing the Nuetech Tubeless Tyre System on front and back wheels and putting the Pirelli tyres on. Just need to fit up the rear wheel again but it is SX time now so once the races are over I'll go do that.

One problem I have with my tubeless system is that the inner tube needs to be pumped to 110psi and my little compressor only goes to 80. Any tips on where I can get quick access to higher pressure? I tried my nearest servo's and they all seem to have the new-fangled automatic pressure gauge machines which only go to 80psi as well. My nearby Bob Jane's manager didn't want to know my troubles either.

Either a bike pump for cycling or maybe the c02 bottles or if you know some one with a shock pump for an atv or mountain bike. I have all of the above if your near penrith western Sydney.
