who knows about "KINLON" bikes????

Was browsing around eBay and came across this Kinlon Trail/Road/Motard bike on there, They are brand new,200cc and have 6 months warranty and cost $2800.

Is this another invasion of Chinese stuff?? Are they any good? And if you did get one I wonder if you can get any parts??

Tried to attach a pic but failed.

As you may have already guessed Tim, Chinese type motorcycles don't always get a warm reception round here.
The funny thing is people have forgotten what they said about the Jap bikes at first too but there you go.
Looking at their web site isnt' too promising however.
  • The super Mortard version has a top speed of less then 100Kph so you may struggle to powerslide if like a real motard.
  • I noticed they didn't even have a new bike for the pic's and the demo bike is already looking farily used after only 336 clicks.
  • The trail version is actually heavier than the motard version...WTF
  • You may have 6 months of carefree warranty period however when this is over, you'll have something that has no resale value whatsoever. To be blunt, who would purchasea second hand chinese motorcycle so you'll find that you've pretty much blown the entire $2800.
  • A mate of mine bought his 2004 model XR 250 3 years ago for $4,250. He's just about to advertise it and he'll probably get more than what he paid for it.
So do the math. Loose $2800 over 12 months of ownership or say a grand with a proven model that is a little older and will (arguably) give you better service. If I had a dollar for every kid I saw pushing his chinese pitbike back to the carpark, I would proably have enough ......to buy a Kinlon..but I wouldn't.

There willl come a day when the chinese will fill a void in the market but let the other bozo's buy their product for the time being until they can work out the kinks and offer a decent product.

Good luck

It might be N.F.I. by name, but it's definitely not by nature.

Good post.
