hope they upgraded the clutch.... suby clutches are a known weak point in mid to high hp applications....

Red face Go the Rexxie.

Ah yes. The fun that is WRX. Modified WRX too. Plus the head aches that come with them. Extreme fun though. We got many thrills from our GC8.

It's best to have the clutch (slipping) as the weak point in rexxies. If you don't keep the clutch as the weak point by fitting a stronger clutch (in the hunt for much harder launches) you'll end up making the tranny, or any other part of the drive train, the weakest link and you will have to rebuild those much more expensive parts regularly. You can increase clutch pressure a little bit but beware it's definitely a trade off in reliability.

How do I know?

I've blown 3 boxes by fitting heavier clutches in our modified 0-100 in 4.7 second GC8. These cars were never designed for dragging/circuit racing. They were meant for dirt rallying. That's where the problem is.

Here's one I rebuilt.

Love driving AWD turbo cars. It's pity about the image they have

great looking track, I love the undulating nature. Reminds me of some Brit tarmac circuits. Sweet looking car too, nice drifts going on there as it unloads over crests.
