KTM 250SX mods

Im making the move back to the 2 stroke world comming off a CRF450r I used for everything from trailriding, enduros, motox, finke and hattah. For some reason I have been drawn to the 2011 250 sx and want to know peoples ideas on setting this bike up for the above riding. At the moment I'm thinking larger tank for longer events, rekluse, vortex ignition??, steering dampner, jd jetting kit??. Bring on the ideas!!!!

I have a 2010 SX that i have setup for finke and hattah.
Overall they are an awesome bike. I assume the 2011 is similar in geometry etc?
Ride the bike before you decide on suspension changes. I rate the stock suspension highly. i made the mistake to change it. ended up going to two tuners to have it screwed up both times! Finally i got it sorted by Chad Talbot at Chads Offroad. he is the man! I will not send suspension to anyone else!
The only mods i have done are:
Scotts damper
Skid plate
Hour meter
Steg pegz
Pivot pegs
Bark busters
IMS 11.5lt tank
Pro-Circuit P2 pipe and factory sound muffler.

On the jetting i tried a JD jet kit and found it was well....... Crap! I have the stock needle in now and set my jetting as per the manual.
dont waste your money on a vortex etc until you have played with the different springs, the bung setting and the ignition curve wire. there are so many combinations to try. And you may find a Vortex is a waste of time and $$.

Cheers Barbs.

I ran into you at the hattah. I was on the honda 450R 2 bikes to your right before we moved off to the startline. I was going to drill you with questions on the starting grid but thought my timing wouldn't be to good considering what we had waiting for us in the next 4 hours!

Oh small world mate. How did you go? I ran out of fuel on the second lap!
Still managed a 78th though so i was happy. Was a tough race this year for sure.

Well done. I really struggled in the deep sand sections. Nothing like what I ride back home. I had about 6 offs for the whole race with one that really knocked me about that took me about 2 minutes to get my bearings. Nevermind I came 86th outright which I was happy with. Actually I was happy that I finished. I was tossing up whether to run 2 laps before my first fuel stop but I opted to come in after every lap. I'm glad I did as you weren't the only one to have run out of fuel. My dad who was helping me in the pits said he saw numerous guys comming over the start finish line pushing their bikes with no fuel absolutely exhausted. Cant wait to next year. Bring on the 2 banger

If you have to replace the pipe, consider a Doma pipe and silencer, went awesome on the 250SX that I used to have.
