  • 2020 MotoGP thread

It's about time we started a new thread for this season.

Sepang test starts in a few days.

Vinales and Quateraro both just signed for Factory Yamaha team for 2021-22.

Anthony West just wrote on FB that he wishes he was dead and that Marquez cheated with his ECU in Moto2 in 2013 and Rossi cheated with tyres in all his 500cc championships. It's old news on Rossi but Westy is clearly pissef off that the FIM is banning him for drugs again.

Wonder how Iannone will go with his drugs ban....

So who is going to win the title in 2020? Let's face it, someone has to rattle Marquez's cage. Who can do that? Probably only Quateraro. He's young enough and brash enough and good enough. Maybe Jack can too. Maybe even Dovi can - he's changed his leathers and helmet - no more "Desmo Dovi" - he's now officially "Undaunted".

Thought that might happen. Wonder if he even come out of retirement for the odd round.

So far, no wild card rides are planned for Lorenzo in 2020, but Yamaha is open to the possibility, should he decide to race again.

I would really like to see Jack have solid year on the Pramac Ducati, both to repay their faith in him and also to boost his stocks on the rider market. This coming season could prove to be pivotal for him.
          NO WUCKIN FURRIES.

Lorenzo now has experience on both the Ducati and Honda, so he may really be exactly what Yamaha needs to go the next step and beat them both to a World title.

Marquez signs with Honda till 2024

Big news. One team man. Unless the others start beating him.

Anyone else watching the "Unlimited" series of videos on motogp.com? it's been giving me more respect for marquez. He's an animal.

Brad Binder will be a motogp champion

Big call I know, but I said it about 3 years ago and I haven't changed my mind.

......One of the riders of the test based on timesheets alone has to be Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rookie Brad Binder. The South African slammed in a mighty impressive 1:54.283 on Day 3 to leave him ninth on the combined times, just 0.425 from Viñales’ pacesetting lap.....

Also Jack's back! Top Ducati at Qatar.

....Jack Miller (Pramac Racing) posted the fastest-ever top speed at the Losail International Circuit, a ridiculous 355 km/h was clocked by the Australian and it was Miller who ended the Qatar Test as the leading Ducati rider in P5 overall. Miller said he completed a couple of time attacks and two longer runs, the number 43 “quietly confident” heading into the opening weekend of the season, but Sector 3 needs work. .....

Oh - and three Yams on top. Let's hope someone can give marquez a run this year. Reading between the lines it looks like Honda may have some problems with the 2020 bike. They're notorious for subterfuge though. Marquez is still recovering from shoulder surgery (again).

We can only hope. I'm an unashamed Marquez admirer. But I know that it's better for the sport for someone to beat him. I hope that if/when he does get beaten it will be without controversy or doubt, when he was riding well and gets done fair and square. All though if he is leading by a country mile crashes and Jack is the next in line that'll do too

Bring on the cooler months and all the sporting offerings that come at that time of year!!

I think Miller got the cat up to 355kph.

looks to be a good year,
mark not 100% fit gives the others a chance
KTM and aprilla bikes are looking better
a couple or riders stepping up that maybe able to beat mark.

I really don't care who wins just as long as its good season like 3 years ago that was the best season for while
