Agree with you there Pete 100% regarding HL96 qualy. Im not certain, but OTTOMH 5th possy in final qual both events so far!
I for one am super glad, if he is following a strategy of building slow off a solid but low base throughout qualy.

Jumped to third , 1sec slower than CC witha cple min to go. Than in final seconds of qual remaining HL put off for a heater
CC stood atop with 48.2, HL went 48.5to gain 2nd. mosiman couldnt improve on his 48.9 3rd.
Marchbanks jumped to 4th and Shimoda is 5th in qual. !

Well, 1 outta 2 ain't bad. Bambam got bammed, but I suspect he wasn't going to top 3 anyhow.
Hunter got a case of the "Netters" and went too hard too soon. The only way CC will lose this is if he breaks a leg.

Tomac didn't shine but he put the kawi curse onto Andersen.
