Yes it's fine, I've been using it for ages on my crf250x with no problems. Just don't get carried away and put heaps on otherwise it gets everywhere.

High temperature Silastic works well also.
If it doesn't use fossil fuels then it's not a toy worth having.

It's likely safe to use... But will it work.

Isn't all gasket goo being initially liquid.
Silicone works; very rarely; due to oil.

Imo: An effective O-Ring etc is better:
First-use Liquid Steel to restore it's fit.

The very best thing to use is Selleys "brick and concrete" Silicon DB$.

It's cheap, you get heaps in a tube and it works better than ANY stuff ever made for the job.

The red high temp silicone from most auto stores is a great product.

Ok so I'm bringing this back up again! I went into bunnings today and was given 2 options so I bought both. Which one do you blokes reckon will work better? They cost almost the same. See pic below

                        Its not that hard, really.
Clean the exhaust port, hole, in the cylinder.
Clean the outside of the exhaust pipe where the o-ring fits.
Clean the o-ring or lash out and buy a new o-ring.
Don't panic about the o-ring material, an off the rack one from your local bearing supplier is ok. 2 strokes don't get hot enough to worry a standard o-ring.
Put some silicon on the pipe, in front and over the o-ring.
Don't put it in the port as it will be squeezed into the port when the pipe is fitted.
High temp silicon is probably better to use.
Push in and fit the pipe, wiping off the excess silicon.
That its a "fatty pipe" makes no difference.
