I never really rode a lot with you guys, I always preferred small groups or even solo but I often ran across your groups and remember the ride epic reports on DBW
I'm still riding, now on DRZ #5 which is overdue for replacement. I ride at Beerburrum with a mate most weeks but always during the week (because I can) and it's too dangerous on weekends these days. I ran into Freaky there a couple of years ago, still with trials tyres, in fact that's how I recognised him.
I also go to Mt Mee occasionally. As you know all the good stuff on the Southside got locked up years ago but the Northside is still pretty good. After they finished logging it access is by bike only so it doesn't get messed up by 4WD's. The Fenceline track recently got cleared and all that area is how it used to be. "C" Hill is still there but I only look at it these days and say ****. I guess that was named after Manager.
I also go to Amamoor and Kenilworth too. I try to get in 2-3 rides a week but do mostly longer less technical rides these days.

I used to ride with you guys a bit, I remember Paul and Donna from a few of those rides, and a couple of other ladies as well. I stopped being a regular on those rides for a few years when my son graduated from a peewee to a crf80, and then a 150. Most of my riding became following him around as he developed his skills. I took him on a lot of the beginner rides, and when it became obvious he was no longer a beginner, we came together on a few of the big rides. Heís 26 now, so that was a lot of years ago indeed!
By the time I was ready to get back into the regular rides, a lot of the regulars had moved on. I broke my back on a ride at imbil a few years ago, thankfully spinal surgery got me sorted and Iím back on the bike again, albeit a bit slower now. After my recovery, I found that the forum was pretty much defunct in terms of organising rides someone put me onto Meetup, and from there Iíve found the SEQld old farts Facebook group. I donít get out as much as I used to (or would like to), but hopefully Iíll manage to run into some of you on the tracks one day

I heard that freaky joined the army, is that true? It would explain why heís not around any more! I know that he lost a lot of weight, I hardly recognised him the last time I saw him.

whoa - seriously she passed? RIP....I used to ride with Paul and Donna from time to time, often tagging along with Nifty. Spent quite a bit of time riding mostly Mount Mee, Donna was there at the top of the downhill I not so famously crashed on in 2007 and dodged a medivac ride from...she said at the top 'This hill is a bit steep DT'.... or something to that effect.

I recall Donna had an XR400 then, and heck she could ride...I asked her how the heck did she learn throttle control after seeing her corner a berm like a pro, she just said oh must be some 10-odd years of MX racing that helped. Last time I rode with them Paul and Donna had the matching 450x's.
2008 KTM 200EXC... Yep, taken up smoking again...
2001 Yamaha WR250F....the original modern 4 stroke quarter litre thrill machine....13.5:1 Vertex slug & auto-decomp cam
1995 DT200...a dark horse that one...reliable, underestimated but surprisingly quick with a few mods...

That's very sad news. I never got to meet Donna but I know her and Paul were a very big part of the DBW Qld crew in the early days. Very sad.
