The Australian 3-day Vintage Enduro, begins this time next week at Blackwood in Victoria. One of the few competitive Vinduros run in Australia, it is intended to be a copy of the old style multi-day enduros from back in the day.

Bikes are up to 1987 models. Riders have to be at least 40 years old to feature in the outright results, and they’re running a bike age/rider age handicap system for a handicap result. Non-competitive rally class too.

A few big names from the old days have entered, along with a solid contingent of hopefuls and muppets ( *waves* ).

Race days are Friday 7th of May to Sunday the 9th.

Silverfox and I will both be having a ride. For me, it will be my first time card enduro and first multi-day event since 2014, so that is going to be interesting...
    Anyone else entered?

If you’re around, come and say g’day ... I’ll be the fat old bloke on the old bike... no, wait... that doesn’t narrow it down much! I will be on the KDX200 powered KX125.

Sounds excellent! Hope you have a great time and do well.
Pics and details of how your KX/KDX hybrid ended up please - I have long considered that build but haven't found any of the parts required so far.
Do they still have a problem with rear disc brakes in Vinduro?

The no rear disc thing is a rule for the VTR club in NSW. It drives me a bit crazy, TBH, but the club runs good, non-competitive events so I suck it up and ride my 87 KDX200.

Here's the KX200. Easy conversion: Bottom engine mounts have to be cut off and re-welded, new front mounting plates made up, cut & shut the KDX pipe.

This is the second one I've built. I sold the original back in 2012 to help pay for the Beta 300. I bought it back in an awful state last year. Here the original is just before I sold it. The only parts I re-used are the exhaust pipe and side stand.

Wow, it looks great! I'd be interested in knowing a bit more about what you did to make the pipe fit.
Did you find a neater solution for the rear motor/swingarm mounts than the washers you used on your first attempt?
Is the headlight a genuine Acerbis Elba or a cheaper copy?

The solution to the swingarm pivot was embarrassingly simple: An O-ring over the inner crush tube also fits neatly inside the swingarm and provides a decent seal for the bearing - much better than the washer.

Headlight is a real one. Bought three from Andre’s Klassiker (sp?) a few years ago. 1993 build?!
This is the last one left.

Pipe was just cut and twist and weld and repeat until it fitted. Was a bigger job than I expected, and my crappy welding doesn’t add to the aesthetics, but it works pretty well.
The reduced length from all the cuts makes the pipe noticeably snappier than an uncut KDX pipe. Not a huge change, but noticeable.

Why should you be embarrassed Spac?
Most issues are easy; given some nous.

Having said that; it'd perplex me further:
              Know an issue; that's 3/4 know-solution.

I'm babbling here again; feigning pretty:
              To an-answer; you need know-problem.

You/we may fluke it; highly unlikely imo:
Focus & apply nous; swat the bulls eye.

Admittedly: I'm 3/4 pissed as usual: Yet:
Know thine foe (Sun Tzu) then conquer.

I'd like to think I'd have done too & also:
Spac's committed: Our kudos is secure.

It's not appropriate to laud Spac here...
When it is: I surely will.. Thank's heaps.

I previously spent a lot of time to come up with a mediocre solution. Second time around I looked at it for about 3 seconds and came up with a much better solution.
