  • Changing 10" tubes without pinching them?

I can do 21, 19, 18, 17, 16, 14 and 12 inch tubes no worries. But 10 inch ones I pinch them every time. I almost feel like giving up and filling the carcass with rags. Everyone I speak to says it's "exactly the same" ... which is BS because if it were so I wouldn't be pinching them.

What's the secret to pw50 tubes? I'm using 3x rounded tyre spoons which I got from boltons about 20yrs ago.
It pumps one way and then it pumps the other...

Degreaser spray, makes everything slippery, including tools/levers, evaporates away in few minutes, and makes old tyres tacky again so doesnt spin on the rim , i wont go near a tyre change with out it .

Hmm, exactly the same as their method, what's your method, got pics, sounds like your 10" wheel may not have a decent well for the bead to drop into ????

I use the tyre black spray from Supercheap as my lube for changes. It's bloody slippery stuff. And it disappears.

I've never done a 10" but if you're pinching, don't use levers at all. If possible.

I watched a vid on youtube and the dude didn't put any air in the tube, I'm inspired to grab another tube and a jar a baby powder and have another go

Pete, How on earth do you not use levers?

Well, I take it you can do the first side without levers? Once that's on, make sure it's down in the deep part of the rim. Then you can usually get most of it on by pushing with hands and use a rubber hammer to get the last bit on. I'd go the other way to ",no air" and always put a bit in. You really need to keep making sure as much of the bead as you can get down into the deepest part of the rim opposite where you are currently trying to put the tyre on. It can be easy if there's a deeper part of the rim.

I've done my 10 inches: I've been patient & used plenty of lube: Typically, in my case; I've been-able to split-both rims in-half; if-that counts?

So many think talcum powder is good, just as an example, take yourself to your nearest gay bar with a container, and see how you feel the next morning , , its only good for reducing tyre to tube wear/chaffing, what you want is a lube that evaporates , [not silicon sprays as they dont evaporate=tyre slips on the rim,] . [I change my own ATV, car, bike tyres, , ]
