Pretty sure mine are too. I was told today that coolant was the best thing to put in there, as it prevents rusting.

Thanks for the link, i'll look into it.

I don’t think you’ve got anything to worry about, 230kg is not heavy and tractors have very low gearing - is yours 4WD? The only thing I would say is depending on your soil type I wouldn’t expect you’ll be running the rippers too deep and may need to may several passes when trying to grade high spots.

Yes, a 4wd. I won't be trying to take off too much at any given point given that my track is in the bush and there'll be roots and whatnot to contend with. I think my lack of experience with these things are making me be over cautious. I've just got to decide on which BGR now.

Time will tell if i'm nuts, but I've gone with the Woods 5ft BGR. It'll get plenty of usage here and while I was sorely tempted by other (cheaper) ones my mate's words of buy once, cry once keep coming back to me. If it's a bust I'll blame you Doobie . Thanks for the input gents, it was much appreciated.

              You're making the right choice.

I look forward to a video of you breaking it in ...hopefully not just breaking it.
Then the follow up video of the buggy tearing up the freshly manicured track.

Thanks 380. If the saying 'you get what you pay for' rings true, then all things being equal, I have made the right choice.

I'll get videos happening for sure. With all the moisture around at the moment hopefully I'll get a good bit of the track smoothed out in relatively short time.

I've got rough ground that I want to fix up as well in some open areas too, I'll get some practice in there first. Hopefully I don't break it.

Lol!! Nah, don't want it too smooth!! I have thought about the option of wetting sections down to work on though with my firefighting setup if/when it gets too dried out again. It'll be interesting to see what results I get with it. I have some days off early next week, hopefully it'll be here by then.

I found a hydraulic top link to be a good combination with a box blade (cutter out front). Worth checking out next tractor shop visit.

Nah, think I'll wait. With all the rain weve had followed by some heat now, I don't know if I'd make it around without getting eaten by the 3m's, mozzie's, midgie's and marchie's (march flys). The'ye come back with a bang.

Set of rippers with depth control , wag more depth control then relying on 3 point linkage

Smudge bar , critical to have a chain on top for float
