            • Early modeling from The Australian 23 March 2020 :

Cases of COVID-19 are currently doubling every four days in Australia and heading towards a trajectory of a three-day doubling.
If the epidemic were allowed to continue in this manner, University of Melbourne epidemiologist Tony Blakely said infections could climb to as many as 500,000 a day within weeks.

Professor Blakely has modelled the impact of social distancing measures and predicts the moves to close pubs, clubs, restaurants and sporting facilities could reduce the R0 to 1.2 by the end of May. That would see the epidemic peak at about 125,000 infections a day in late May, with 60 per cent of the population infected.

              • Melbourne CBD recovery multi million dollar spend is to legalise all the illegal street dining that's been going on for years and expand it.

Yer great idea, except people eating in the gutters in garbage bin areas is more of a 3rd World thing.

What the third World has over Melbourne's CBD is shit loads of people that need feeding, we've got f all, no international tourists, noone from outside of Melbourne stupid enough to come in, save protesters of course.

We're so untrustworthy in Melbourne we belong to a State that isn't trusted to take on International arrivals.

Doing a great job Victorian Labor Government, keep turning that Federal money into dead end investments, might as well drag all the States down.

In a normal world you could start a retaliation to Gov stupidity by refusing to pay taxes, but Dan has already stopped people working so they aren't paying tax. NOW where does the boss with no income find your holiday pay.

                  • Not much but at least it is a start . . . .

                    Andrews faces no-confidence motion

A motion of no-confidence against Daniel Andrews will be tabled in the Victorian parliament today, with a vote next month, The Herald Sun reports.

Opposition Leader Michael O’Brien will introduce the motion and put the vote to the lower house..

Mr O’Brien said the government had botched its handling of the pandemic, particularly with hotel quarantine and contract tracing failures which sparked Victoria’s deadly second wave.

He said Mr Andrews had lost the support of Victorians.

However, the the motion will almost definitely be voted down as Labor holds a commanding 11-seat majority.

What'd I say about looking after the aged about 3-4 weeks ago? It still applies.

Andrews ain't the only one. It's a worldwide epidemic that's affecting politicians.

I reckon Trump might be the only one who got it right.

                        • Was it 95 yo and 100 yo recovereds getting paraded on the news, I see the 95 yo was interviewed from home, WTF are they doing giving him Covid in the first place, .0000000000000001 % of Aussies have it infectiously and they manage to give it to a 95 yo that lives at his own home.

It'd be interesting to see how Dan's tunneling under Melbourne is going with nobody on the surface to complain or get in the way. Convenient that.

It may feel that way, but its impossible to know, given the current evidence. We have a lot more to learn.
Dans mates in China could help a whole lot more than they do.
