We get our Moderna boosters next tuesday - the first day we are eligible on the five month criteria.
We are not going to cancel our 2/2/22 Pfizer appointment just yet, as we have not ruled out the possiblty that bi-monthly boosters may be recommended by then.

I'm not eligible yet even on the 5 month time, not fussed, not worried about the difference of getting it boosted or not, just pissed off with how governments reaction to it through 2022 will destroy more businesses and waste more of our taxes.

The no need to wait was in regard to waiting for Melbourne to catch up with Omicron - its there and superspreading already.

No doubt there will be more businesses destroyed, more taxes wasted, and more lives lost. The government bears some responsibility at the margins.

Yer we're a bit behind NSW, we have more mask rules, but, the virus could always get through a mask, this one also doesn't take much notice of vaccination certificates.

NSW's record day AND restrictions eased...

Seems pretty clear that there's a lot of faith being placed in vaccination and an indifference to those who are not vaccinated. Hazzard warned/predicted 25,000 new cases per day, six weeks from now.
The next few months are going a new phase in the pandemic - basically letting it run, and seeing what happens.

For the little that it is worth, I see two basic possibilities:
1. Vaccinations work, and while lots of people will be infected, only a small proportion will suffer serious effects.
2. Vaccinations don't work [well] and we're all fudged.

Here in regional Qld where there's been virtually no sign of covid itself yet, the side effects of the vaccines and the fallout from mandates is far more obvious.
