Congrats on your lightweight adventure bike dirtpilot72

I'm not making fun of you here... I'm genuinely envious:
For you to call that lightweight; you're stronger than me.

    I guess it's lighter than a 1200 BMW & far more useful?
    Please keep us informed: I/we will-live quite-vicariously.

Edit: I surmise humility from dirtpilot72.. No new thread.
Yet, how often a new bike? This deserves a thread imo.

        To clarify: TOE-CUTTER is a Fire-fighter on an oil-rig?
        I rode with a Fire-Fighter. I was puffing; he's sweet-as.
I can ride but I'm nowhere that fit... He showed me up.
Hubris is a bitch: Ego stretched bounds: He aided me.

253kg for the special, the base model is a bit lighter. So it's not the heaviest but it's getting there....

Fitted a rade tank in place of the airbox, 19lts of fuel on board now, Will take it anywhere an enduro bike will go, and still cruise at 140 down the black top. Weight was the reason for a 701. Still do all the jumps at the local mx track, Wanted an Africa twin but at 240 kg I would never pick it up. 701 at around 165kg full of fuel. its a no brainer, No fear of getting somwhere down a track and not being able to get out.
What year model is your 701 ??
I got back into Winch truck racing but thats been sold after Cliffhanger so now seriusly looking for a 701 wanted the LR version but none around atm

Done 3500km. These weigh around 200kg wet, but feel way less. Bike is ok for easy single track work if you want to. Can probably do most tracks a enduro bike can do within reason. The 20 liter fuel tank gets around 400km. Big oil capacity. Enduro bike plastics, including fuel tank make it robust and a crash won't write it off like bigger bikes. Suspension is the best in the twin cylinder world. In fact the suspension is what makes the bike so good. Plenty of power for road riding. Its an impressive package.

Good choice, maybe already done but get one of those kickstand dongles, mine just let me down, had to get myself home and go back with crane truck.
                            Clutch slaves leak too.

That fairing looks great, like to get one of those. I have the one which bolts on to light shroud, the thing is going to take my teeth out !!
