Doesn't cost much more than half an hours effort to open up a set of cartridges, shuffle some shims, and put a few hundred mls of fluid back in em!

Beauty of the KYB is that they have 15 years of tuning knowledge available to work with. Pretty easy fork to tweak if the OEM setting isn't quite what you're looking for.

As you all know I’m a very simple person and that sounds like a lot of stuffing around same as setting up a Carby -not for me , thanks for the advice [emoji16]

        • That concurs with what Owen Lock said on the Aus Beta fb page, unless you want to go fast just buy the standard Beta NOT the race edition He said the standard edition fork was great on the slow more hard endure type terrain.

          • Rode a 2020 350 race today back to back with my 2020 390rr with my KYB forks. The 350 is better then the std oc fork that came on my 390 I think!! However not as good as my valved SSS fork. The rear shock will come in for some shim shuffling next..

If you hit rocks hard or tree roots at the bottom of whoops hard the std fork is unpredictable the SSS is not thats the feeling i get from riding them. Note I don't ride extreme

            • SSS internails on my WP forks transformed my bike, the best mod i have ever done and the great part, i can move the carts across to new to beta, gas gas, husky, ktm for little coin.

evey bike i have had the forks were at best ok even revalved after i got used to i still felt they were average, now i get on my white ktm and never winche or get that sharp hit and forget about the forks, get the first hit sorted and the rest of the bike becomes so much more enjoyable to ride, unless you got PDS then the your up for the second hit

              • Rode 4hrs of rocks at the G this morning - fork is working great post-air gap increase & a wind-off of rebound.

Who knows how much of a diff $500 worth of RT pistons & shims made?

The biggest change has been a reduction of “Oh, shit!” moments at higher speed. The front end seems more settled & precise.

Guess it doesn’t matter if the fork is working better for me.

                  • Guy buys race bike with his own coin after having 2 x Beta USA loaners he raved about & finds the suspension harsh after 3hrs compared to a trail bike. Whoop de fuggin’ do.

                    • I swapped bikes and rode a 2019 WR450 with the KYB suspension and we both agreed my 2019 tweaked OC Sachs were far more compliant and nicer to ride on.

The quality control of the Sachs is dismal (internal coating wears off)

ALL manufactures bikes will need a suspension tune/tweak depending on the terrain and speed of the rider.

nice. the 2020 has the counterbalancer yeah? i can recommend suspension mods from ffrc in qld. the xt is pretty hard to ride quickly - feels very unsafe.
i fitted a dep pipe, necj needle, 38pj, 158mj. goes like a 300 enduro bike now.

                          • I took my new 2020 300 Xtrainer to my practice loop yesterday and today and i'm very happy so far.
I've done about 50hrs on my 2015 WR 250f around the track and my best times were 1.3hrs (1hr 18min). The last 3 times my laps were all 1.5hrs and i fell over 13 times. Heaps of trees down and plenty of water erosion = feet not touching ground 🤣🤣.
1st ride on the Xtrainer yesterday and i did a 1.4hrs lap and today was a 1.2hrs. Quicker times and no fall overs, very happy.

                            • Had a stick pull the throttle cable out off the grip, which is always interesting. I have now cable tied the cable where it enters the throttle.
I've sent the fork cartridge to FFRC to have there kit fitted and they will send the shock kit back for me to fit.
All the linkage and head stem had a bit of grease but there was room for more so i did with Belray water proof grease.
I'll fit a mousse to the front but i'll break my Tubliss virginity on the rear to see if it is worth the hassall of checking air pressure every ride.
I'm going to put washers under clutch springs for an easier clutch pull.
