Jallopy, those KDX parts you gave me have gone into this 1990 KX200.

It is pretty much finished, really only need to sort an exhaust pipe now.

    (mad thread hijack, sorry OP).

Yes I did build the bike and custom expansion chamber to fit
The revalved MX suspension I softened to cater for all day riding at a very quick pace.

The KDX 200 engine was plenty fast enough and would rip when "special test" pace was needed.

Awesome, that's quite an achievement - thanks for sharing. Did you build the bike, any pics?

Maybe you need the xtrainer to get it lower.
My 390 is perfect for me with the Shinko 120 and I am getting 2000 plus kms awesome grip with tubless.

How big is the 120 cheater, I had a 120/100 gt333 on my old bike and it was massive.
Bikes are tall enough for my short ass

Beta 390RR 2019 Long Term Review

Iv tried the GT333 it was terrible for the victoria winter , pulled it of after one ride, il use that tyre for summer. I then tried the GT232 that was excellent BUT was only good for 4 rides, so il be going back to the 525 Cheater for next winter great gripper and awesome wearing [emoji108][emoji106]

    Great work, Jallopy.

Have you tried a GT333 on the back & if so, how do you rate it compared to the Shinko?

    Beta 390RR Review

    165hrs 3760kms

Fork oil change. Oil colour was normal when drained.
Silkolene RSF5 went back in. 135mm from top.

New front tyre. I m trying the Golden tyre 216 Fatty.

    188hrs 4400kms.

Rear Sachs shock Oil change. The oil was dirty as the shock cylinder was starting to wear.
Replaced oil with Golden Spectro 85/150 and set the pressure to 145psi (Down from 155psi) The shock seems to have lost the harshness on square edge hits.

Chain and sprockets replaced. 13T front and 50T rear.
Up from 49T. This combination makes second gear more usable in slower trails. I rarely now go back to 1st .... just feather the clutch a little and then let the torque of the 390 do the rest.

    191 hrs 4470kms 27.09.2019
Rear Shinko 525 Cheater , replaced with the same tyre. I got over 2400kms from the this Shinko.
That rear Shinko tyre is awesome soft sticky rubber and it last and lasts. Very good grip on rock wet or dry. Pressure from 4 to 8psi in the dry.

The bike is comfortable, easy to ride and rarely gets knocked off line. Starts first go every time, even in gear, doesn't miss gears or have false neutrals.
Gearbox oil always comes out clean The engine oil is a little dark after 500kms. The seat could do with a softer foam padding.

I have now done over 200hrs 4720kms and cant wait for the next 200hrs

Got the bike back they admitted there was a problem but could not find a fault.
    They are good honest dealers.

You seem to ride like I do... Tearing knobs from edges.

Just a thought; maybe consider a second earth strap.
If no-change: No great loss... Atleast it's-then not-it.
Tearing/cracking Knobs from edges is a design fault of the tyre in my opinion,or maybe you and I are riding terrain the tyre is NOT designed for.

Tried 2nd earth strap off the rectifier/regulator it is not the problem.

Solder the 5 splice joints and it is fixed. I also added thicker bypass wires but in hindsight it is not necessary.
Solder the 5 splice joints is now a simple fix for poor charging on the EFI 4 strokes worldwide.

I have been using their Oil Filters in my last 390 and am now using them in this 2019 Beta 390 RR.
Some people may turn their nose up at a cheap oil filter and pay 8 times more for genuine or aftermarket filters.

I have stocked up on them also. They are on special $2.27 each at the moment.

Thank you for the info on the brake pads. I'll give them a try. Cheers.
