After searching the interweb for some clarity on a KYB/Sachs conversion & getting nothing clear enough to move forward with on my 22 300. I did come across a couple of posts mentioning a Showa swap. Fortunately I also own a 19 CRF450L. So after taking a few rough measurements. Looks like the will fit. Same lug off set & same distance apart in the triples as well as same size top & bottom in the triples.
So now my CRF is sporting Sachs forks & the Italian princess is suspended by Showa. Will probably need a spring swap in both but that’s still cheaper than a 3rd set of forks & any associated machining. Swapped the calipers too & front wheels. Speedo cables will just need a short adapter & can also swap bikes.
Hope to test the 300 out this week in the dirt.
