WOOHOO, can i have the pink giraffe on the top shelf pls?

As to the rim...yeh i wouldn't stress about it either, if it was any bigger then yes i would smash it with a mallet during the next tyre change to shrink it a bit as any bigger than that will be prone to picking up bits of stone etc which could lead to tyre damage.

II couldn't get the valve cover on the crf250R until I realized I'd put the bloody camchain guide back in upside down - what a pain. Had me buggered what was going on for a minute or so.
Finally off the bench but just taking it easy.

Ok! So, the bike is finally all back together.

          New piston kit.
          Shimmed the right inlet valve.
Serviced suspension - well, Chad did. $300 for servicing front and rear, including new fork seals. Set the preload on the rear spring too. Apparently mine was set up as a full pogo stick.
          Greased various things.
Checked tolerances and clearances of various things.
          Replaced front tyre.
Smashed a long neck on the front headlight.

Can't wait to start it up and run it in. ^roost

I'm gonna take it out this Sunday, local or a little further south. You comin'?

I love working on my own stuff, well what I can do in the shed anyway.. I've learnt heaps just from this rebuild. That's one of the positives of owing a 4T - more garage time.

Well, I took the bike out today on its rebuild ride..

Started perfectly first flick of the button and I instantly noticed how quiet these JE pistons are. We rode about 80kms out at one of our usual haunts and the motor was impressive. So was the suspension after the servicing at Chad's. He's done a great job, its a different bike. It took a while to adjust to but it turns so much better and generally performs like it should.

                      Happy.

Sorry Krackers I just saw your reply.

                        Top stuff! ^roost

I am chomping to ride down your way again, but this weekend it just wasn't to be.

Cool as too. You get a whole different riding experience, just by carrying out some maintenance. Cheaper than trading up

We can rebuild him: PART 2

I'm currently rebuilding myself physically too, so it's an allround rebuild fest.

How to rebuild a bottom end on a 08+ CRF250X - by Krackers

                            1. Contact people who have had involement in it before and ask them questions and get info. Thanks to Disco and Spock.

                            2. Spend lots of money much to annoyance of lovely wife.

Here's my latest parts list, obviously some don't have anything to do with a bottom end but hey, I ain't getting a new bike anytime soon! I like the Honda. I ordered all this stuff from http://www.mrcycles.com I have used them before and they've been reliable. Postage ain't no lightning RMATV postage but I've got time to spare at the moment.

                                ~200 hours

Speedo died ages ago. That's why I ordered an hour meter because Honda speedos are unbelievably shite.
