It is, i've also seen heat wrapped versions too, solid would make more sense imo for tight bush riding as a degree or so less temp in the fuel isn't going to do jack shmitt imo.

Great looking bikes Rob, if yours looks like them thenrt

Yep dazza mine is a carbon copy right down to the $1000 US left hand radiator oil pump combo.

The stator is being redone by Baja designs for 150watts.

Found out today the JCR bikes are using a 2009 trx450x reg/rectifier for electrical duties.

Got my muffler off at the moment to get my shock "Choiced" (forks too) and weighed it compared to OEM.

          FMF Q4 = 2650g
          OEM = 3650g.

Not a bad saving, especially up so high.

Gps tracking device for the Baja 1000 race.

On the EFI 450x, that's where the reg/recfier goes. (trx450x part)

How many actual liters do you get into the IMS (does it expand ) and

How many miles do you get from it on high country type tracks ?

Oi, only my bestest frenz get to call me Dax..

Can't say i've ever measured it and unlike a jerry can it has a breather cap so pressure doesn't build up to expand it for another cuppla lts.
I can say though that in typical High Country riding it will get me around 150kms before i need to switch to reserve, that's with a mix of some cruising on open transport and wfo on ridgeclimbs.
Leaves the stock tank for dead, almost double in fact.
That's with stock gearing so a 14 should see a noticeable increase.

Does that explain the bling stator cover in the pics?

Daz that part is about the only obvious part that we can't buy.

As you know the modern 4strokes have minimal room for wattage generation. Honda Japan make the electrics especially for JCR. That means it makes like 250 watts which is 3 times the stock size.

What's interesting is that in the baja1000 they use 2 old cibie Oscar halogen lights - not mondo lumen HIDs which surprised me. They said it was due to the light reflection.

I know on my twin HIDs the reflection on highways is insane to the point where you can't see with both on.

The other thing with the JCR bike is I bet they modify the internal gearing. I don't know that but that's my guess.

I looked at the 460x gearing a few weeks ago and it's the primary ratio which makes it a closer ratio gbox isn't it?

I'm thinking making gears might be on the table...

You need to remove more than that there should be a 100mm x 150mm hole or there abouts in the top of your air box
