Got my hands on a TSP head for my 300 XC-W. I'm in Canada atm, so I ended up ordering it from South Bay Moto out of the states. I threw the TSP head on and took it out for a spin. I honestly was a little disappointed. The bike felt weak.. and I quickly realized it was lean.. power was down.

I have a Lectron H-Series on the bike, so I adjusted the metering rod and after a few changes ended up adding about 3/4 of a turn richer. The engine ran much better, but now the off idle response was blubbery. I know this a common criticism of the Lectron's. So I pulled it out and threw in the stock Mikuni. Bike immediately ran stronger, and off idle cleaned up with the air screw to a decent level.

So now I've decided to throw in a JD Jetting kit, along with the jet-block gasket and o-ring kit. Its on order, so looking forward to that. Lectron might be up for sale after this!

Scored some Brembo pads off Marketplace for less then aftermarket ones today. Good riddance squealing brakes. Can't beat OEM pads in my opinion.

About 400 hrs on old girl 300. 1st real maintenance done since 2016. Top end, starter bendix, rear shock oil/gas, rear wheel bearings, fixed subframe end wearing away, new rear guard, indicators, burn the pipe soot out, muffler repack. Everything else in working order.

A few rides in now on the “little Pocket Rocket” and I’m really starting to gel with this weapon of a bike. Still nothing iv found I can’t do on this bike that I can’t do on the bigger bikes. I’m still blown away how this bike got me up the (Dissa) WidowMaker (Clean) first go-better then iv ever been able to do-unbelievable.
I changed the rear sprocket to the 50 and I’m still unsure about this as it’s running out of legs on the open trails , I’m thinking of maybe trying a 49 rear somewhere in between. I tried the red spring in the PV and I found with the bigger 50t sprocket it was to aggressive and losing traction with to much wheel spin so back to the stock PV spring.

Given the weather lately, some fresh rubber both ends, The new Mitas Terra Force single green on the rear with a Fresh Mitas Extreme mousse.
Forks are back from OnPoint and I’m keen to try their Extreme Hard Enduro setup.

Diagnosed a no start condition on my 2018 ktm 300 TPI, It was the voltage regulator.

It had no spark, Fuel pump power, oil light and not dash power.
Grounding the white/Black wire on the main relay confirmed the failure and allowed the bike to start.

This week I Changed the rear sprocket on my 21 150 from 13-48 that was on the bike to 13-50 that came with the bike in the box. Also changed the gear shifter with the 300 shifter as I found the stock 150 was to short for my boots.

These are the plugs that come in the 2021 bikes from OS - apparently the bikes run a lot better with these plugs-in Australia a lot of dealers are changing them out and putting the BR7 plugs in.

Just poked my head into this thread, its been a few years since I've been in here. Looks like the last post was 2018! So I might just fix that. Recently picked up a 2017 300 with about 100 hours on the clock. Pretty clean. I have been doing regular maintenance to it along with heavier springs and adding a Lectron carb. Bike is running really nicely now and is a lot of fun in the single track.

Latest addition was to upgrade the headlight to an LED bulb from Cyclops Adventure Sports, along with adding the small but powerful Explorer 2 LED light, also made by Cyclops. It puts out very light light on the trail. I had this light on my previous 300 as it didn't have a stock light on it. Its nice not having to worry about getting back to the trucks after dark, as has happened a few times already!
