  • Sherco parts

Thinking about getting a 300 2t, what are parts like to find? From the Sherco site prices look expensive, air filter from MX store is $30 But $60 from sherco.

Beautiful bikes, I'm gravitating toward the factory for the KYB and fruit, but do I need it...decisions

I rode with a guy the other week-he mentioned it was a 6 week wait for a piston kit for his 300 2t Sherco

I also had a 4 week wait for a front brake hose from the white ktm brand.

Global pandemic is playing havoc with all sorts of supplies not just the sherco’s

I did a comparison on everything genuine I've had to buy for my bikes and Sherco came out around 20-30% more expensive than KTM. Prices may have changed, but it was enough to stop me considering the brand.

Sherco share much the of same gear as in brakes ,clutch etc as KTM. .I think radiators are the same .Chain, wheels bearing are generic .Nick b is full of crap.Ive owned both and the cost is the same .Sherco has better suspension then the pds crap. The cost of KTM is a joke then you have to spend a grand on suspension

The Sherco is a great bike too ride, the braking system & forks/shock parts can be easily found for a good price, the brake disc & sprockets are the things that cost a bit more I've done 3,500 klm on mine & she is still running strong, had the valves checked @ 1,000klm no change, had valves check & compression check @ 3,000klm, 1 valve needed slight adjustment. I've had 1 issue which was a real PITA, bike would stop, start etc, battery flat & with NO kicker out in the bush it was a REAL PITA !!
Ends up after some research on the Shercoforum it seems a fair amount of Voltage regulators go @ 120Hr mark, i had done 125hrs, $180 to replace & it was here in a couple of days. Maybe i'm wrong, but i think because this seems to be a common issue, Sherco should have only charged about $50-60 for the part, the replacement is an upgrade to the original, so it looks like they know there has been an issue with the original 1 !
My Mechanic does a lot of work on Sherco's & has been using after market pistons for 10yrs plus without an issue, they are about $120 cheaper i think ?

The rectifier regulators do seem to shit themselves.I would have put on an after market for under $100.They have a 220w stator that really only has the job of charging the battery so the regulator gets very hot dissipating excess voltage.I run with the headlight on and use the fan constantly which seems to keep the rectifier /reg a bit cooler. There really is very few Genuine sherco parts on the sherco.A lot of companies supply to sherco parts.Sherco mark them up and sell as genuine . Air filters , oil filters etc If you buy any part from Sherco you will pay double.Try MX store for sherco consumable parts .Ive seen a a spark plug for $107 from France on eBay !
