woohoo, something non-injury related and actually about riding bikes. ^roost

this is scott's birthday video from the imbil weekend. only just got around to finishing what with all the hoohah going on. a few of us were saying its incredible how far scott has come along in a year, getting very smooth and controlled. don't tell him that though or it will go to his head. ^rof

i made sure we had all his stacks in for that reason. especially his ktm levitation up one of imbil's worst hill climbs.

any kato experts who could confirm this one way or another? i reckon your plastics with stickers would be perfect in that case, ant!



i'd be very happy to lead that curtis, and just do strummer's favourite tracks or similar. just a bit too busy with other stuff at the moment to do all the organising but if someone wanted to start a thread and post the ride? might need to check with the mods if it's called a fundraiser. but maybe no need if the understanding is we are chipping in for a bbq?

Lets get Strummers bike back in shape!

Ok to help out with getting Strummer back on his feet I will be the main coordinator for the Strummer bike part donation drive.

I will list below what is needed and what we have been pleged and by whom to avoid confusion.

I live near to Caloundra (Clown Town) on the Sunshine coast and would like to either have donations dropped to me or I can pick up if no other option. PM me for address and time...

I would ask if any donators from South Brisbane or North Brisbane to either drop off to Barry or if someone else (Scott maybe) could assist.

Please check the updates I will make on this thread to keep track if you could.

So here is the list of required parts with curent donations. I will update this as we go.

Please note we are seeking parts in good general condition, if doubled up we will happily return them.

Pale dude, I've amended the list below for the indicators. Mine have had the connectors cut off (and I'll happily reconnect Strums connectors to my indicators if needed), so I'm hoping that AntMan's offer is still valid.

As much as the bike parts will be appreciated by Strummer, sick leave runs out quickly and I have no doubt that Strummer will be under pressure to get back to work in order to earn money.

So I would like to make the case again for those on here that have enjoyed his rides to kick in a few bucks per day of the next working week so he can afford to take leave without pay to get a few more days to get the head right.

If JUST 25 of us kicked in JUST $5 per day, that would deliver $625 which may take the pressure off enough for him to get an extra week at home.

There have been a whole lot more than just 25 of us who have enjoyed his hospitality on rides he has hosted for free. He is the first to help those with bike trouble or to get over an obstacle. He and Jo are the first to bring out the lolly bag and share the sugar.

I'll tip in a pineapple each day to get the ball started.

thanks pale rider for taking over the kato parts thing. could add a front tyre to that? strummer's front is okay but i'd really like to see him riding with decent rubber both ends at first. his head is now more vulnerable to future impacts.

and thanks to antman, allan11 and pale rider for a rumoured BBQ/support ride coming up in the near future.

one of the dbw guys asked if i could do the route and lead a three day birthday ride for him starting tomorrow so i better pull my finger out and get on to it. i'll make myself scarce until sunday night so apologies if you send me a PM and it doesn't get answered till then.
