Also you offered to buy some bars, would you mind diverting that to a contribution to one of the outstanding parts if not donated. I dont mean the entire cost just what you would like...
of course, more then happy to.

Just a suggestion with the header. on my old bike i had a weld blow out a good 4cm by 2cm chuck. I was going to buy a new one, but just had it touched up by fabricating some metal and using silversolder as they were two dis-similar metals. Just used an oxy torch i believe to put the two together.

Thought if it isn't that bad could put a good $200-$300 straight to Stummer or into other necessary items? I'm sure if it was to be sold anyway most people probably wouldnt be too worried about a couple of dings in it?

Depends on the depth and shape of the dents...

Thanks for the ideas Scott, I was hoping to pick a header up from someone who has upgraded their system and still has the original header in good nick....

            • Wow

Just got back on after a 2 week hiatus with the family and whammo , not good to read and then outstanding to read as I read on.

Big wishes of wellness coming your way Andy and big wishes of support for you too Jo.

To all those involved on the day a big thank you as I know from first hand experience just how bad some of these accidents can get. It sounds like you all came together to make sure Strumm was cared for as quickly and as best as was possible so well done to all concerned.

It is also great to see the Dbw community and Advrider community looking after there own when these things happen as they unfortunately do. Fantastic to hear Jo is getting some meals organised as you don't truly understand how much of a difference this makes until in the situation ( also speaking from first hand experience ) so a big thank you there as well.

Awesome to see the bike bits coming together so well and I think the charity ride is a great idea as has been done before here in Seq so should be no probs with the forum bigwigs. We managed a ride of 72 participants for that one which was a huge success ( especially the crash tax ).

Let me know if you need a hand as am happy to lead an easy loop around Beerburrum if not already organised.

Again it is just great to see so many folk helping out in any way they can for a delightful couple who have given us so much already.

                      • part number for your header pipe is 77105007000

part number for strumms is 78005007000

Does anyone know if the first 4 numbers just identifies the bike model in those part numbers, the rest of the numbers seem promising.

Cheers 25ktm, I am not sure either, maybe we could collect it from you and try it, if it doesnt fit I can return it to you.

Pm me if you like and let me know where you are so I can make some arrangements.

                          Very much appreciated mate...

Great work on the numbers Glenn, maybe the KTM thread could help with this question.

                            • If the SXF is anything like comparing the 250 excf to the 450 exc. I noticed the header did get larger in diameter by a reasonably significant amount.

Yes that would likely be due the increase in bore size, there may be a subtle difference like in the yamies, however they interchange, so maybe.. I have put the question to the experts in the technical thread...
