I can help out with where we parked out there a couple of weeks ago, as for the run to the state forest from the town, can't quite remember which road it was. Whether it was Boomi Creek Road, or Brumby plains Road that lead into the forest where we rode. We spent most of the day out there, and only just scraped the surface i think.

Feel free to pull me up on the map if anything is wrong.

I have noticed that this Post has gone quiet for like 2 years. So how about people in Qld post updated meeting points and ride locations for the area and GPS files (if you have them) And the hopefully get a stickky of just the location and get it up dated quaterly. I think posting what to look out for do any donts etc for the area would be good

          Any thoughts anyone?

          I will Start.

          Lockyer State Forestry.

Meeting point Wallers Rd or Krugers rd,
Millers rd Locked out due to prison but area is still accessible through other accesses.

Would recommend regod bikes but not essential (ride at own risk).

Parking there is a couple place to park if you have a 4x4 you can par up the first hil on the left there is plenty of room or you can par at the bottom.
Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.

Motorcycle racing makes heroin addiction look like a vague wish for something salty.

A narrow track of dirt through the forest isn't a trail -- it's an attitude.

Probably got quiet when police and trail bike cops started turning up at ride locations Noticed the lack of posted rides these days? Same deal with maps, I doubt you'll get any takers here.....

the sad truth is 1 or 2 idiots have wrecked it the rest GPS's and ego's and personality clashes are a huge issue. Most rides is SEQ are small group rides arranged via email phone or pm's to avoid the hassles. It's a real shame 5 years ago there were several posted rides each weekend in SEQ and a very active friendly community of like minded people! Well that's my view of it but i'm considered a vagina for say it as I see it.

Lockyer is a top loop been a long time since I rode there my brother us to live a gatton

+1 although I havn't been on the forum as long as others here, I also wish more rides would be posted up. What gets me pissed is there's a lot of idiots that don't respect the areas they go to ride.... probably because they don't live close by or whatever. That causes closures & gets the locals pissed etc.

I personally prefer smaller group rides, but I try to put a larger group ride up once in a while. Helps to make mates & learn new areas to ride.

I'd never put any gps files online, don't even have any. I own 1 but only used it for 30 mins to test it out. Half the fun is navigating with land marks without gps anyway. I reckon it's like cheating in a way.... don't hate gps, just don't see the point in it other than for safety reasons.

I try & see the bright side of things, I think this forum is picking up a bit compared to when I first joined. I think those people that are idiots get a bad name on here pretty quick anyway, so it sorta helps keep the w*nkers out a bit. But I spose in the end not everyone has the same opinions & respect for our awesome part of the world. Can't win em all.

I'l take you for a ride on 1 of my trails (you'd probably know them all anyway) one day if you like Ditchwitch, to return the favour.

                        My 2 c.
                        Cheers.

That is really sad to hear but it as to be expected i guess i remember when i first started riding and the lockyer forestry was always packed with bikes etc.

My quetion is if no one is willing to post up location which is fine i would do the same if i felt that my place would get ruined by the minority, how does one get out and meet said new people and ride with them to explore and navigator new areas.

I love riding and only just recently taken the hobby back up and the only thing you would ever here my self and any of my mate complain about is the ride ending.

Mate, if you are on here and people don't think you're a tool you will get some PM's if you ask. I got a number of offers which is great, it shows the guys up here are friendly and willing to help a newcomer to the area out.

I'd happily take you out, fact is I've only just moved up and have no idea where to go!
