Well that is a relief to some extent. It is still a shame though. Yeah i have a mate that rides up at Berrburm and that was fun and i work with a couple of lads that ride glasshouse and fraser etc the only problem is it is a bloody nightmare trying to get our rosters to align so we can get a soild ride in. The reason i am asking is i just want to experience different tracks and meet new people it is amazing what you can learn from just watching someone ride or just riding behind them.

Most of the fella i use to ride a race with have mooved on or dont ride anymore. and alot of tracks that i use to no about have over grown or dont exist anymore unfortunealtey

Looked on here to see if there were any pointers for Old Caloundra Rd and have read the posts above.
I can only say good things about the folk I have met & ridden with on here - people like Ant, Big Brad, Kooline, DV8, etc. have all offered to lead me around when I have posted up wanting to go for a ride. Haven't been on one of Strummers adventures but they sound like a great group of people and am keen to go with them at some stage. No ego's, no drama, no agenda's just sounds good mate, lets go.....and they all wait patiently while I fall over & get back up again .
Have been lurking here for a good while and yes, it did all seem to go quiet in SEQ for a while (DBW vs TRA was a bit like the Hatfields and the Coys there for a while) but it all seems to have settled down now and there are many more rides posted nowdays.
Starting to get a bit teary now so I'll sign off...bless you, one & all :grinning-

        Hi all,

A question for the locals who frequent Beerburrum -
I'm sure someone mentioned somewhere the beginners carpark on Berrburrum-Woodford Rd is not a good place to park/unload anymore, boys in blue are giving handouts to dirt bikers.

Is this the case? If so where is the best place to park around there to launch from?

Anywhere off the beaten track I spose would do. I don't mind the place but try to ride other areas, way too many other riders there. Did Beer a few weeks ago, we just parked in a side fire road away from the main road a bit. I reckon the bigger the group, the more attention you'l end up getting. The amount of rubbish dumped out there was freekin disgusting, probably another reason why they're a bit thingy atm. Asbestos, mattresses, old cars..... even saw a few used nappies near some other parked cars. It smelled like someone dumped a dead body near where we parked that day. It's a real shame, it could be so much better out there, I reckon the younger gen need a kick in the ass.
          Cheers.

            Thanks Ant.

I agree it is getting way too busy out there and the rubbish is getting out of control. I'd hate to see inside these people's houses that choose to dump.

The beer is close for me and a good place for all levels of rider. I'm heading out with my best mate in a few weeks - it's been about 15 years since we had a good ride together and he'll need a little 'warming up' so I figure its a good place to start.

I like the side road idea, I'll run with that. Cheers

What's the objection to using this area ?
Why is it different to parking on the side of the road anywhere else ?

I've always been wary of parking in secluded spots up there given the opportunistic lowlifes that hang around there.

True, it's all the same I spose.

I am still not sure why they did that to the beginners 'carpark', really makes no sense.
The police were monitoring the Mango tree at the south and a carpark near Big Red to the north. Had never seen them near that carpark.
Rego'd folk have no need to hide the car or the fact they are riding.

So the police were checking for unregistered bikes and nothing to do with where they were parked.
                    Where's the problem ?

I don't run all my ADR gear so a little weary of getting a check up. That's my only objection.

I don't run any ADR and have my numberplate cable tied to the camelbak.
Have seen the police a few times, waved hello and they don't even stop.

If you do get pulled up you just had a massive stack that knocked off all your indicators and rendered anything else that doesn't work, inoperable

                        DV8, no problem here

Never had an issue with the po po, have seen them a few times out there, my bike is registered may or may not have all the ADR gear on it from time to time.

Once had them check out my car cause I parked it near a pile of gravel and some nuf nuf called the po po, I returned to my car to find them looking into the wondows, after pointing out the ramp and ties downs and the fact I was on a bike, they bid me farewell, when I asked did you wanna see my rego n license they told me about the gravel trport and bid farewell, no interest in my bike or me whod thought.

Another occassion out there the po po pulled up and told me they were watching scums in the area breaking into cars, again bid my potentially non compliant bike farewell.

A few on here as well as plenty of goons ride in areas out there where it is set aside for horse riding and such, I personally avoid these areas as I dont want to keep reminding people that bikes need to be banned from there, but thats just me.

Im getting back after a couple of years off, hoping to get a Sherco 300 soon. How are things going with the Police now? I will be regod but not fully ADRd so shouldnt be a worry. Is the beginners carpark ok to park at, or is there any trouble with that. Bit sad to read that rides arent being posted up for fear of unwanted attention! Hope to join some of you on a ride soon

                              Riding from Samford

                              Hi guys,
We've potentially bought a property at Cedar Creek, north of Samford. We'll have to behave and keep the horse folk happy, but is there anyway to ride into that area west of Cedar Creek and access all that D'Aguilar forest between Samford and Dayboro?

                              Thanks,
                              Dan.
