91 wmw cr250

Picked this bike up a few years ago. Chased it for 10years. Lost track of it 5 years ago and then it popped up about 2 years later as a basket case, and managed to get it back. Starting to track bits down getting ready to assemble. Just pulled it all out of the boxes it came in to see what's missing. Did the motor and frame a few months back. Needs a lot of work but it will get there. Chasing a rear dog bone if anybody has one

Nice. The 91 CR would have been an awful bike in the bush when it was new, but three decades on we know a lot more about suspension setup and I’m sure that you’ll be able to make it entirely rideable.

don't think so. As far as I know they just ran the mx box?

MX box. There were wide ratio gearsets available from the USA in the day, but this was at a time when our dollar was lucky to break US$0.60 (oh, wait...) so nobody could justify the cost.
If there’s any of those gearsets in Australia, then you would be super lucky to have bought the bike with it fitted.

Two guys I used to ride with had them. Basically a stock CR with lights and a compliance plate. They were late teens early twenties at the time and I can remember them sideways everywhere with lots of roost when they weren't in the air of every small mound.

WMW. Woody's Motorcycles of Wyong. They complianced CR Honda's from about 83/4 to 99 I believe. Even CR500's if you wanted, Basically about 84 it became mandatory at the 4 day to have a compliance plated bike. Hence the specials that were built. There are a few KX250's floating around done by BTX in vic and a few YZ250,s and RM250;s as well. Only true plated enduro bikes avail were Euro built. Kawasaki stopped the KDX250 in 86? the 200 continued, Suzuki had dropped the PE and the 250X was a trail bike in 85, Honda had the XR's but no 2 strokes, Yamaha had the TT's
On a side note. If you look at the seat the last part of the white slash is missing and has the WMW logo. I always thought they were a stock seat with the logo on it, but seems they may have had the seat covers made?? anybody shed any light? might only be on this model?? 91
