    Hey guys and gals..

need a new front tube for my sons bikes and been out of the loop for too long. The front wheel is a 70/100-19 (or 2.5/2.75-19 so I'm told.) From what I recall the 70 is the tyre width and the the 100 is the tyre profile and it's a 19 inch rim. Question is, would a 100/70-19 tube be the same as a 70/100-19 tube? They just fill the void inside the tyre so I cant see why not...The local bike shop has suggested I get a 130/70-19 tube which I assume is for a rear tyre.

Shady Im thinking some numbers here are arse about and causing confusion......
    I reckon youve got -
    A 19"rim, 2.5' width of rim
    Tyre is a 100/70 x 19" = 19" Rim , With a '100' width Tyre (100mm) And 70 Aspect Ratio =
Tyre Height is 70(%) of its width which gives you a tyre 70mm high.

Tube therefore is spot as you have stated 19" Tube to fit a 100/70 Tyre.

EDIT - or its 70/100 = 70mm tyre with 100(%) aspect ratio, which equals a tyre 70mm high.

PS as you said your just coming back to it ....And no one Luvs doin tube changes / repairs hey !
Let me share a Good Rim prep trick....

Most flat tyres are caused by Rim / Tube Pinch'es! True Most Rim Tapes Are C R A P !
Before fitting new tube ...check your rim of course .
then check rim tape ...of course. if its ****ied put it back on
Then scrounge an old pushbike tube....
Cut out valve. stretch it to size round said 19" rim.
Overlap it by 3-4 inches. mark, cut.
Glue it with decent shoe glue and clamp it.
When dry ...You Need a set of Hole Punches....Ex SuperCheap!
One whole for Rim Clamp. Trial fit. Mark the Valve Hole.
Punch valve hole....Bob's your uncle !
Also duct tape this combo to rim...Dont put duct tape over the Rim section where tyre bead grips tho.
A super cushioned rim tape / tube combo.

Run tyre pressure down to 7-8psi !
Use the Rim clean method to establish best psi for your kids tyre use! Look it up.

    Good luck

PS send any donations as appreciation for this great tip ( and saving of tube $) ......

That may well be the case but every 'specs' sheet I've seen for the DRZ125, CRF125 & TTR125 shows the tyre size as

      70/100-19 42M, tube type
      90/100-16 52M, tube type
I was at a tyre bike shop today and they had the 70mm wide tyres so I assume it's shown correct. Probably more that it's a kids fun bike as opposed to an adult bike that makes the size a little odd.

Thanks for the heads up, very helpful. Does anyone use talc powder anymore? just to help the tyre settle into place.
